Six years of development—my most extensive project to date for the long-established furniture company Dietiker. The concept—to develop a contemporary wooden chair that functions 100 % as a flat-pack—remained unchanged throughout the entire process. The construction and design, however, have evolved. The greatest challenge lay in perseverance, in continuing to work on it, in “sticking with it.” This process has given rise to an extensive product family that is now being gradually expanded. The starting point is a lightweight wooden chair characterized by soft curves and precise geometries. It is crafted from solid beech and possesses a warm, tactile presence as well as excellent comfort for everyday use. The chair is available with or without armrests and blends effortlessly into dining, restaurant, and meeting environments without losing its understated individuality.
